Membership Events and Networking
The Chamber Annual Dinner and Awards Night honors community award recipients during a formal evening. Awards presented include the ATHENA Award; Outstanding Small, Medium, and Large Business; Citizen of the Year Award; Mission Award and the Ambassador Rising Star Award. Tentatively scheduled for January 27, 2011.
Annual Home-Garden-Business EXPO is an opportunity for Chamber Members to promote their business to thousands of area residents. Over 150 businesses and non-profit organizations participate in the show. The EXPO is a chamber event with assistance from the Shiawassee Home Builder Association. Tentatively scheduled for March 5-6, 2011.
Chamber Classic is one of the largest golf outings in Shiawassee County. It is an all day event with lunch, 18 holes of golf with special on course games and awards dinner. Scheduled for September 14, 2010.
A terrific new offering for member businesses will be the Business-to-Business Trade Fair held at Baker College of Owosso. This one-day trade show will feature booths dedicated to servicing other businesses and it will be combined with a quarterly after-hours networking event called Chamber 5:01. The event will also offer businesses the chance to meet one-on-one with buyers from major corporations in the mid-Michigan area. Scheduled for October 21, 2010.
Chamber AM is held the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:15 a.m. at the Big Boy Restaurant. This monthly membership breakfast is known for its networking value and community information updates. A very popular event with chamber members!
Chamber Leads Groups. These networking groups are designed to provide chamber member participants with a network of like minded business people with the purpose of exchanging business leads and honing marketing skills. Perfect for service businesses. Each group meets twice a month.
Chamber 5:01 is an after hours business networking event that is held at a sponsor location. This fun mixer gives members the chance to interact on a casual to interact on a casual basis, pass business cards and enjoy the camaraderie that chamber membership brings. Held quarterly.
